VPQ-E: Adaptación cultural al español del Voice Performance Questionnaire

Abstract

El Voice Performance Questionnaire (VPQ) es un instrumento de autoinforme para pacien-tes con disfonía que resulta sencillo, fácil de administrar y tiene buenas características psicométricas. El objetivo de este trabajo es llevar a cabo la adaptación cultural de la versión española del VPQ en población disfónica española. El cuestionario fue traducido por tres expertos en Logopedia, y entonces retro-traducido por dos traductores nativos que no conocían el objetivo del estudio. Después de compa-rar las traducciones se llegó a una versión previa del instrumento, que fue aplicado en una muestra de 45 pacientes con disfonía. Se modificó una opción de respuesta en uno de los ítems debido a problemas de aplicabilidad en el mismo. Las estimaciones psicométricas iniciales y provisionales de consistencia interna, error típico de medida, fiabilidad test-retest y validez convergente fueron adecuadas. The Voice Performance Questionnaire (VPQ) is a self-report instrument for patients with dys-phonia which is simple, quick to apply and with good psychometric properties. The aim of this work is to carry out the cultural adaptation of the Spanish version of the VPQ in dysphonic Spanish population. The questionnaire was translated by three experts in speech-therapy, and then back-translated by two native translators who were not aware of the goal of the study. After the comparison of the translation, a previous version of the instrument was produced and applied in a sample with 45 patients with dysphonia. Due to applicability problems, a response option was modified for one of the items. Initial and provisional psychometric measures for internal consistency, typical measurement error, test-retest reliability and convergent validity were adequate.The cultural adaptation of the questionnaire (VPQ-E) was developed from these results, and is offered in the appendix
