01 La era digital: el uso de la red y el ciberacoso

Abstract

En este capítulo se analizan los comportamientos de las diferentes generaciones frente a la era digital, describiendo los diferentes usos que hacen de internet y las redes sociales. Además, se cuestiona la distinción entre nativos e inmigrantes digitales realizada en base a la generación frente a la nueva distinción entre residentes y visitantes digitales. Seguidamente se analiza la realidad del contacto en la era digital partiendo de las paradojas que se dan en los negocios surgidos en esta nueva era. Por último, el capítulo se centra en uno de los principales problemas que representa el uso de internet y las redes sociales para la población adolescente: el ciberacoso. Se analiza este problema presentando un estudio que investiga el papel de la familia como factor de protección ante el ciberacoso, que muestra los beneficios del estilo de socialización indulgente./ This chapter analyses different generations behavior in the digital age, describing the different uses they made of Internet and social networks. In addition, it questions the distinction between digital natives and digital immigrants based on generation versus the new distinction between digital residents and digital visitors. Next, the reality of the personal contact in the digital era is analyzed, showing the paradoxes that exist in the some of the business’ companies emerged in this new era. Finally, the chapter focuses on one of the main problems that Internet and social network use represents for the young population: cyberbullying. This problem is analyzed by presenting a study that investigates the role of the family as a protective factor against cyberbullying, that shows the benefices of indulgent parenting.
