La conjetura de goldbach
Abstract
This article deals with a brief comment that Wittgenstein wrote on Goldbach?s conjecture referring mathematical property. According to Goldbach, every even integer that is greater than two can be described as a sum of two prime numbers. Wittgenstein detected an error in Goldbach?s transformations and interpreted the expression ?believing that p? (p representing Goldbach conjecture) as an indication that we must be able to follow a rule. However, for a clarification we need to explain how the terms ?proof?, ?notation?, ?form? and ?symbols? are interrelated. Only if we succeed to clarify this relationship can we determine whether a mathematical proposition has meaning or not. This translation is a critical edition of Wittgenstein?s comment by placing his arguments in a historic background.
